Sail Melbourne 2017!

The 2017 Sail Melbourne International regatta ran for five days last week and saw over 330 competitors from nine countries battle it out in mixed conditions. Sail Melbourne International is the inaugural leg of the new Asia-Pacific Circuit with a strong Asian representation. From scorching 35 degree heat at the start of the regatta to stormy conditions and strong winds leading to the abandonment of racing at the end, competitors were faced with challenging conditions. Congratulations to Laura Harding & Ella Grimshaw who finished fourth in their 420 as well as Hamish Cowell who finished 2nd overall and first Victorian in the Open Bic’s. Well done to all BYS sailors who competed at the event. The next leg of the circuit is Sail Sydney, which starts on the 11th of December.
