We have had a few new staff join us recently as well as some familiar faces taking on new roles. Please join me in welcoming our new team members and those that you may already know into their new roles;

David Sherlock – Food & Beverage Operations Manager

David starts with us today as Food and Beverage Operations Manager. David joins us from Peppers Moonah Links Golf Resort where he held the role of Food and Beverage Manager for several years. We are very excited to welcome David to this vital role in the Club.

Libby Nelson – Food & Beverage Coordinator

Many of our members will know Libby well from her time on reception. What you may not know is that Libby has played a central role in the development of our food and beverage front of house team in recent months. Libby is now performing the role of Food & Beverage Coordinator supporting both our front of house and back of house teams as we head into our busy summer period. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Libby for her tireless work and contribution over the past few months.

Thomas Giurioli – Sous Chef

Thomas is back! I’m sure you remember Thomas from previous seasons at BYS. Thomas is back as Chef supporting Simon and the team in the kitchen for the 2018/19 season. We are so excited to have his skills and infectious personality with us again.

Amanda Noble – Volunteer Coordinator/ Reception

Welcome to Amanda, a southern Peninsula local who has joined us in the last fortnight in a dual purpose role. As Volunteer Coordinator, Amanda will help in the growth of our terrific volunteer culture while also assisting new members (and potential members) navigate the different ways they can participate in our Club and the sport of sailing. Amanda will also assist with reception duties during the week.

Gordon Hyde – Sailing Operations Manager

Gordon Hyde has taken on the role of Sailing Operations Manager and now a few weeks into the role has been active in the delivery of our club racing program as well as the start of our sail training season. Gordon is a qualified Senior Instructor with Australian Sailing and joins us with experience in sailing operations and training at Black Rock Yacht Club as well as Club management as past Commodore of Rye Yacht Club.

Sian Harding – Sail Training Coordinator

I am very excited to announce that Sian Harding has taken on the role of Sail Training Coordinator for our busy summer period. Sian has grown up sailing at BYS and has been one of our more experienced sailing instructors in the past few years. Sian started in this role on Friday and jumped straight into the first junior and youth sail training session on Sunday!

Matt Graham – Marina & Yard Operator

Matt has been with us for a little while now in the role of Marina & Yard Operator. With a background in project management, Matt has been a welcome addition to the team.
