This course will equip candidates to manage life threatening emergencies until professional medical help arrives. The courses focus includes CPR, treatment of common medical conditions and situation recognition and management.

Attend one of our 4 hour courses and pass the TSV test to start the process of getting your Marine Boat Licence. These courses are run by Melbourne Boat Training. Attend the course and be out boating in no time!
Duration and Fees: 4 hours (08:30 – 12:30) – $110
A VHF Marine Radio Licence (Certificate of Proficiency) is a legal requirement for everyone who use a marine VHF radio. The new Australian Waters Qualifications is here. Develop confidence, competent, and LEGAL in marine radio usage. The course is of three hours, and covers theory and practical hands on instruction, followed by a theory and practical test. This run by Peninsula Boat Training Pty. Ltd. and held at Blairgowrie, Albert Park and Frankston.
Duration and Fees: 3 Hours (8:30 – 11:30) – $155 for BYS members (normally $170)

This course includes intermediate boat handling skills and seamanship for a variety of boat types. The Course includes boat launching, engines and fuel, types of craft and navigation. It aims to improve boat handling skills at low and planning speeds, all of which may be practiced during a short passage. Powerboat licence is required to complete this course.

This course will develop your powerboat skills so that you can support all water-based activities at sailing clubs, schools and recreation centres. If you want to become a qualified sailing instructor, coach or official, this course is ideal.
You’ll learn about race course design, practice on-water rescue of dinghies and multi-hulls, and get an awareness of techniques to support kite surfers and kayaks. You’ll also discover how to safely rescue or re-right other craft, recover persons from the water, and where to position your boat on a race course.
